CVPC MISSION STUDY REPORT

Mission and Peacemaking

Goal #1: We will support mission projects that provide direct aid to people in need.

Objectives (1-3 yrs)

    • Support and publicize a mix of mission projects that have a local, national, and international focus.
    • Reinstate the "Minute for Mission" once a month during worship.

Objectives (4-7 yrs)

    • Fund and commit to at least one new major ongoing mission project in terms of financial support and congregational involvement.

Goal #2: We will seek out mission projects that provide the opportunity for direct congregational involvement.

Objectives (1-3 yrs)

    • Have at least one mission project each year that provides the opportunity for direct involvement by the congregation

Objectives (4-7 yrs)

    • Have at least one mission project each year selected and coordinated by our youth group.

Goal #3: We will support and encourage individuals in their personal mission involvement.

Objectives (1-3 yrs)

    • Find out how members of the congregation volunteer in the community.
    • Publicize and support the volunteer work that members of the congregation are involved in.

Goal #4: We will continue to be strong advocates for Peacemaking and Social Justice in the local community and wider world.

Objectives (1-3 yrs)

    • Issues involving Peacemaking and Social Justice activities will be regularly publicized to the congregation.
    • Sponsor at least one guest speaker on a current peacemaking topic.

Objectives (4-7 yrs)

    • Provide scholarships for youth to attend Peacemaking Conferences.
