Solemn footsteps / Earth-friendly AIDS walk
in Golden Gate Park
:

25,000 people raised $4.5 million at S.F. event, which featured composting and paperless registration.

From Sandy Govett
The blonde is my daughter, Britt Brunke.  She was the captain of the team - Pasta Pomodoro. The others were people who work in the different Pomodoro restaurants.
My daughter and I were "Star Walkers" raising more than $1,000 each - that's why we have those beautiful crowns.  I walked with people who had never participated in the event, people who had walked 8-10 times and one WWII veteran who was in a wheelchair, pushed by his cronies and raised $10,000 himself.
Quite a rewarding experience
